We collect only the information necessary to operate and improve the Checkr app.
Account Information:
Email address and authentication credentials (securely stored via Supabase authentication services). You may also use the app as a guest without creating an account, in which case we do not collect any account information.
Subscription Information:
If you purchase a premium subscription, we collect and process subscription status, purchase receipts, and entitlement information through Apple's in-app purchase system. We do not store your payment card information. Note: Guest users cannot make purchases; an account is required for subscriptions and additional scan purchases.
Document Analysis:
When you analyze a document, the text content is sent to our secure servers for AI processing. The full document text is never stored on our servers — it remains only on your device. For registered users, analysis results (such as risk scores, flags, and document type) and chat history are securely stored in an encrypted database linked to your account, enabling features like document history. Follow-up questions are processed by sending the locally-stored document text transiently to our servers; it is not retained after processing. For guest users, all data is stored locally on your device only.
App Usage Information:
Interactions within the app (such as documents analyzed, questions asked, and feature usage).
Device information such as operating system, device type, and app version for performance monitoring.
Optional User Content:
Display name.
Preferences related to notifications or themes.
Feedback or support messages.
We do not collect sensitive personal information, health data, financial data, or precise location data.
We use your information to:

When you submit a document for analysis:
Your data is securely stored using encrypted cloud infrastructure located in Australia or in regions with equivalent data-protection standards.

You may delete your account at any time directly within the app through Settings > Delete Account. Account deletion is immediate and permanent.

Important: Subscription billing is managed through your Apple ID. To stop future subscription charges, you must also cancel your subscription through your App Store account settings before deleting your Checkr account.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Australia.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any significant changes will be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels before taking effect.
